Father's Day Weekend with Westchester Families: Fishing, Animal Encounters, Classic Shows June 15 & 16

Father's Day is Sunday and there are lots of great ways to celebrate this weekend in Westchester. We've already given you a few ideas for celebrating Dad on Sunday and there's more fun to be had. The weekend brings Clearwater's Hudson River Revival, The Little Mermaid and farm fun for families. Annie is showing on Saturday and Sunday is packed with fun events to choose from, including Family Day at the Hudson River Museum and Father's Day Fishing at Westmoreland Sanctuary

All Weekend

Clearwater's Great Hudson River Revival - Croton-on-Hudson
This annual celebration is packed with live music and entertainment and tons of activities, games, food and fun for the whole family. Adult tickets start at $64; kids under 12 are free. 

Hands On: Egg Collecting - Bedford
Get in touch with the farmer within! Kids can help collect eggs and learn hands-on about the farm to table movement. $12; ages 2+. Linger after for Story Time at the Farm. FREE

The Little Mermaid, Jr. - Tarrytown
Tarrytown Music Hall presents the classic tale this Saturday and Sunday at 11am. $8-$13

Feeding Fun at Greenburgh Nature Center - Scarsdale
As part of NYS Museum Week, Greenburgh Nature Center invites everyone (members and non-members) to enjoy feeding time at the Center, which includes admission to their live animal museum. FREE

Annie Jr. - Irvington 
Everyone's favorite orphan is coming to Irvington Town Hall Theater. Choose from four different showtimes of this classic tale on Saturday (and two more showings next week), brought to life by Lighthouse Youth Theater.  

Sunday, June 16th

Family Day at Hudson River Museum - Yonkers 
Father's Day is Family Day at the Hudson River Museum. Enjoy arts and crafts, interactive exhibits, live classical music and more on the beautiful museum grounds with stunning views of the Hudson River. FREE

Father's Day Fishing at Westmoreland Sanctuary - Mount Kisco
Grab your fishing gear and head out to Westmoreland Sanctuary. Normally fishing is prohibited, but the Sanctuary has suspended its "No Fishing" policy in honor of Father's Day. Pre-registration is required by Friday, June 14th. $5; ages 5-12.

Beyond Westchester

If you plan to spend the day (or weekend) outside of Westchester, the Fairfield County Irish Festival is this weekend. In NYC, there's the Jazz Age Lawn Party on Governor's Island and Jam on DUMBO Summer Family Music Festival happening all weekend.

On Saturday, Turtle Cove Golf & Baseball Complex in the Bronx is celebrating their Grand Opening of the 2013 season with free golf clinics, raffles, games for kids, face painting, food and more.
